Freight Tram

Use of the surface tram network to carry goods between passenger trams at off-peak hours or during the night, an idea suggested by Greg (Saint-Gilles)

This idea was inspired by an image seen on this website ﴾a transport system on rails running along the canal﴿. Apparently, this idea is being envisaged in France: http://tramfret.com/.
This would fit fully into the context of the smart city and could even be a source of financial income for the Stib which could either itself offer the service to businesses or rent out its network.
